Clinical Director
As the Clinical Director, Carolyn orchestrates the dental team with one goal in mind; achieving and maintaining optimum oral health for each of our patients. In addition, Carolyn works closely with Dr. Rouah in developing treatment plans for each of the patients' individual needs. In the past 25 years she has taken many opportunities to expand her knowledge and skill levels through continuing education both abroad and locally. As a Registered Restorative Hygienist, for several years, she has provided restorative dental services to her patients. She is a current member of the ODHA and is a Cerec trainer for continuing education courses. In her spare time Carolyn enjoys golfing, skiing, gardening, interior design, cooking and heading up to the cottage to spend time with family and friends.
Patient Coordinator
Randi’s education in dental assisting combined with her office management skills greatly enhances the team at 5000 Yonge Dental. Her bright smile and caring personality can be seen as one enters our dental home. Randi’s passion for animals is second only to the passion for her profession.
Registered Dental Assistant
Nelly is an extension of Dr. Rouah-as his right hand. Nelly's calming personality paves the way to your visit with Dr. Rouah. Like a conductor, she orchestrates all the necessary steps from beginning to end in all dental procedures. She demonstrates a sincere desire to ensure that each patient experiences the most relaxed dental care; ending the treatment with a warm towel embracing your mouth. In her spare time Nelly enjoys working out at the gym.
Dental Hygiene Coordinator
Rowena's calm demeanor relaxes even the most apprehensive patients, as she prepares the treatment rooms for each of our patients. Our patients often comment on her mellowness and gentle mannerism. Rowena spends much of her time with the love of her life, her son, particularly camping during the summer months.
About our Hygiene Team
What is the Role of the Registered Dental Hygienist?
Our Dental Hygienists are qualified dental professionals who play a vital role in your oral health care and are an intrinsic part of Dr. Rouah's team. As clinical and educational partners with our patients, their main goal is to prevent gum disease and tooth decay.
They perform procedures to help you achieve and maintain optimum oral health, such as removing plaque and tartar (calculus) from your teeth and below the gum-line. Another important role our hygienists perform is examining your teeth and gums for the presence of diseases or other abnormalities such as lesions that may indicate oral cancer. They take digital dental x-rays and apply cavity-preventive agents such as fluorides and other preventative resins. Further they advise you on how to practice good oral hygiene at home and which products to use in your home care program to meet your specific oral hygiene needs.
What is the Role of the Registered Restorative Dental Hygienist?
The Restorative Dental Hygienist is an experienced graduate dental hygienist who performs restorative procedures in addition to traditional preventive duties, listed in the "What is the Role of the Registered Dental Hygienist".
They are specially trained in bonding techniques that are utilized virtually in all restorative and cosmetic procedures. They place and finish composite and temporary restorations, take final impressions, cement temporary crowns, onlays, inlays and assist with "invisilign" orthodontic devices. They are a key part of our ability to provide the aforementioned procedures to our patients.
